A Few Short Amendments

The “second” immigration bill is up for it’s second cloture vote today to cut off debate and move towards voting for it. This cloture vote is coming quickly because of an agreed upon limit of 30 hours of debate. Here’s a link to the amendment package in HTML or PDF format.
The package is a mere 373 pages. Which means 100 Senators are debating about 12 pages of law per hour. I think our Columnist Chris put it well when he said “I find it rather amusing that Senators are supposed to review, analyze, debate a few hundred pages and decide by Friday.”
